About Me

I am a Licensed Clinical Professional Counselor (LCPC), License #CC2192, invested in the co-creation of the therapeutic process. I also employ visualization techniques and body self-scanning to assist clients in identifying and managing feelings and emotions.

Between stimulus and response there is a space. In that space is our power to choose our response. In our response lies our growth and our freedom.   Viktor E. Frankl

My Philosophy

To live an authentic life is to live fully. I believe in showing up for life; in embracing life's challenges as opportunities for growth, healing and self-discovery. I am committed to a belief in the inherent worth and dignity of all persons. I am dedicated to the development of human potential; a commitment to building cooperation, trust and fellowship; an understanding of life as process; an appreciation of the spiritual and the intuitive. I acknowledge that all persons are individual. I recognize the profound problems affecting the world and a responsibility to contribute to hope and constructive change. I am committed to the role of helper, guide and advocate.

The Work

I encourage my clients to be actively involved and personally responsible for the co-creation of their therapeutic work. Our work together will include issue identification, exploration and reflection, goal setting and resolution. I will help clients realize their true potential, heal old hurts, restore balance and dissolve unhealthy patterns of behavior.

I balance my subjective knowledge and experiences with that of my clients to better understand their intrinsic qualities and processes. I am open to others' ways of thinking and being and celebrate that within the context of the work.

Recognizing the unique style and personality of each client, I will utilize my multi-modal approach to meet you where you are in your process.

Training

My interest in the human process began at an early age. I was always curious about why we are the way we are. I continued on that vein by choosing to study interpersonal and organizational communication, earning a BA in Communication from the University of Southern Maine. After spending some years working in corporate settings, I returned to school and earned my MA in Counseling Psychology. I also continue to utilize trainings/workshops to maintain licensure and also to ensure clients receive modalities of best practice. Along with LCPC licensure, I maintain board certifications as a Nationally Certified Counselor, Certificate #257325 and Board Certified-Telemental Health Practitioner, Certificate #360.
