Services

I provide counseling and psychotherapy for a diverse population of adults who wish to increase self-awareness and create growth, change, healing and balance in their lives.  Areas of special interest and experience include but are not limited to depression, anxiety, spiritual growth, relationship discord, parenting, life balance issues, self-esteem and co-dependency.  I also offer supervision and consultation services to fellow practitioners and students.

Individual Psychotherapy

Psychotherapeutic and counseling services for ages 18+.  Each session lasts
45 minutes (longer session times are available upon request and for an additional fee).  Sessions are scheduled on the hour.  During the first session, you will be asked to complete paperwork; providing your name, address and insurance information or information on how you will pay for your sessions.  I will provide you with information on what is expected of you during our time together and what you can expect of me.  Your comfort and understanding of the psychotherapeutic process is of the utmost importance.

Conjoint Psychotherapy

Conjoint psychotherapy and counseling may be between parent and child, life partners, friends, spouses, siblings, coworkers, business entities, etc.  Conjoint therapy also includes reconciliation counseling, and counseling for those who wish to dissolve a relationship in a healthy and respectful way.  Each session lasts 45 minutes (longer session times are available upon request and for an additional fee).  Sessions are scheduled on the hour, and both parties must be present.  The work focuses on communication skill-building and discovering and correcting unhealthy patterns of behavior or thought that may interfere with the health and growth of the relationship.  In the matter of those who wish to dissolve a relationship, the work focuses on respectful communication around issues such as co-parenting, creating a  dissolution time-line, creating healthy boundaries, and developing household rules and guidelines.  This is not individual psychotherapy.  The couple is the client.  During the first session, you will be asked to complete paperwork; providing your names, addresses and insurance information or information on how you will pay for your sessions.  I will provide you with information on what is expected of you as individuals and as a couple during our time together and what you can expect of me.  As in individual psychotherapy, your comfort and understanding of the counseling process is paramount.

Supervision and Consultation

I offer supervision and consultation services to conditional counselors and independently licensed counselors and social workers who wish to fulfill Maine licensure requirements and/or enhance their skills through professional supervision and consultation.  Supervision and consultation sessions are 60 minutes (longer session times are available upon request and for an additional fee).

Telemental Health Counseling

Although I hold the credential for telemental health counseling, at this time the State of Maine Board of Counseling Professionals Licensure does not recognize telemental health counseling in any form as an acceptable practice of counseling or psychotherapy.
